The Bermuda Correspondence Box

The Bermuda Correspondence Box began with a love of letter writing, a conversation here in Bermuda, and a journey to Marrakech.

After leading one of my Art of Correspondence creative experiences, a conversation about how difficult it had become to find beautiful letter writing paper in Bermuda planted the seed for creating something of my own. A few months later, I travelled to Marrakech and found myself captivated by the craftsmanship all around me: intricate bone inlay, hand-worked brass and beautiful symbols carrying meanings of protection, blessing and good fortune.

Those two places come together in the Bermuda Correspondence Box.

Each handcrafted bone inlay box is filled with everything you need to slow down and return to the ritual of putting pen to paper. Inside you’ll find Notes from Bermuda letter writing paper and envelopes lined with a scene of Warwick Long Bay, alongside my Bermuda wax seal stamp and all the tools needed to create and seal your letters by hand.

Touches of Marrakech are found throughout, including a brass hand letter opener and Khamsa key ring, bringing some of the craftsmanship and symbolism that first inspired me home to Bermuda.

This is a box designed to be used. To write the letter. To create with your hands and send your words to someone you love. And when the writing is finished, the bone inlay box remains as a beautiful place to keep letters, photographs and other pieces of a life worth remembering.

Only 50 Bermuda Correspondence Boxes have been created in this edition.

A note on craftsmanship: Each bone inlay box is made entirely by hand, with every piece individually cut and placed. Our guide in Morocco shared that the subtle variations and markings found in these pieces are treasured signs of craftsmanship, each one bearing the quiet imprint of the hands that made it.
